Virginian-Pilot  April 18, 1941
George Bowman Haynes, aged 63, husband of Mrs. Emily Foster Haynes, and son of the 
late Edward and Mrs. Emily Waters Haynes, died at a local hospital last night at 
8:15 o’clock. Mr. Haynes was a native of Elmira, N. Y., and a resident of Norfolk 
for the past 52 years, residing at 1717 East Olney road at the time of his death. 
Besides his wife, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Curtis T. Brooks, of Norfolk, 
and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
