The Virginian Pilot Friday December 10, 1976
George Dewey Head Jr., 56, of 700 Berkshire Road, the husband of Mrs. Geneta 
Price Head and a native of South Norfolk (old Norfolk County), died Wednesday 
in his home.

He was a marine construction superintendent for Blythe & Son, Portsmouth.  He 
also was a retired Navy chief petty officer with 20 years of service which 
include World War II and the Korean War.

He was a member of George W Wright Masonic Lodge 346, Norfolk.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas H. Bass of Suffolk and Miss 
Janice Sue Head of Portsmouth; three sons, Ronald Russell Head, Gerald Mitchell 
Head, and Timothy Carl Head of Portsmouth; and two grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home by the 
Rev. Louie A. Vines.  Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, with 
Masonic rites at the grave.
