Virginian-Pilot December 17, 1916
HEARD - Suddenly, Friday, December 15, 1916, at 2 o'clock, JAMES LINDSAY HEARD, 
son of Mrs. Mary Lindsay (sic) Sylvester and the late W. J. Heard, age 37 years, 4 
months and 17 days.
Remains will be taken from the funeral apartments of H. D. Oliver, 610 and 612 
Freemason street, to Ghent Methodist church for funeral services THIS (Sunday) 
AFTERNOON at 2:30 o'clock. Friends of the family invited. Burial in Elmwood 
cemetery.
