Virginian Pilot September 26, 1975

Mrs. Mina Bell Doughty Heard, 98, of 607 Waters Road, the widow of William Jackson 
Heard and a native of Machipongo, died Thursday in a hospital.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Catherine E. Alldred of Norfolk; a brother, 
Edward B. Doughty of the Eastern Shore; three grandchildren and a great-
grandchild.
A funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, by 
the Rev. Otis Colston. Cox Funeral Home has charge.
