NORFOLK
Dr. James Russell Kline Heinen, 65, of Mayflower Drive, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 
2005. He was born in Dubuque, Iowa. Jim retired from Old Dominion University as a 
professor in the Department of Education after 26 years.

He is survived by his companion, Patricia J. Melise of Norfolk.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home. 
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour 
prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 
the Joy Fund, c/o The Virginian-Pilot, 150 W. Brambleton Ave., Norfolk, VA 23510.
