The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Friday February 13, 1942


Mrs. Annie Cason Heistand, aged 78, widow of Dr. Albert B. Heistand and 
daughter of the late Calvin and Mrs. Carrie Jones Cason, a native of Morses 
Point, N.C., and a resident of Norfolk for the past 61 years, died at a local 
hospital yesterday afternoon at 5:15 o’clock after a short illness. She is 
survived by two grandchildren, Mrs. Bessie A. Gibney, of Fentress, and Robert 
B. Stevens, of Williamsburg, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home, 
Thirty-Fifth Street at Colonial Avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock, the 
Rev. L.C. Smart, pastor of the LeKies Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Heistand 
was a charter member officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
