Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, June 19, 1992 
Virginia Louise Helms of the 100 block of Hardy Ave., died June 16, 1992, in her
home.

Mrs. Helms was born in Jarratt. She was the widow of Charlie R. Helms and was a
member of First Calvary Baptist Church and Senior Citizens Group-Southside.

Survivors include her mother, Josie L. Griffin of Norfolk; four sisters, Merlyn
C. Griffin, Dorothy Booker and Rebecca Griffin, all of Norfolk, and Claudia E.
Griffin of New York City, and a brother, Melvin M. Griffin of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Bank Street Memorial
Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph Dancy Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
Viewing will begin at 1 p.m. today in Chatman Funeral Home.
