Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, November 28, 1991 
Charlie Robert Helms Sr., of the 100 block of Hardy Ave., a retired
longshoreman, died Nov. 24, 1991, in a hospital.

Mr. Helms was born in Norfolk. He was a member of Bank Street Memorial Baptist
Church and International Longshoreman's Association, Local 1248.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia L. Helms; and a sister, Dorothy H. Booker
of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Bank Street Memorial Baptist
Church by the Rev. Joseph Dancy Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Viewing
will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Chatman Funeral Home. The body will be
placed in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
