Hubert Lee Helvin — Funeral services for Mr. Helvin, retired member of the Norfolk 
Police Division who died Sunday, were conducted yesterday at 2 p.m. in the chapel 
of the Sykes Funeral Home, Berkley, by the Rev. Dr. Beecher L. Rhodes, pastor of 
Berkley Avenue Baptist Church. Pallbearers, all members of the Police Division, 
were Lt. L. E. Hudgins, Capt. B. H. Dowe, Sgt. E. D. Littlejohn and Patrolmen 
First Class R. L. Cook, George A. Bailey and George Crosby. Full military honors 
were accorded at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery. Graveside rites also were 
conducted by Norfolk Lodge No. 1, A.F. and A.M., and the Knights of Pythias.
