A son of the late George W. and Mary C. Bradican (sic) Helvin, he was a life- long resident of the Norfolk area. He was a retired blacksmith. A World War I veteran, he was a past commander of Disabled Veterans Chapter No. 3. He also was a member of Peoples Church, Brandon Place. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. G. L. Wright of Vienna, Va., and Mrs. Carroll L. Palmer of Back Gay; one sister, Mrs. Mary V. Casey of Norfolk; and a brother, J. W. Helvin of Norfolk; four grandchildren. The body was taken to Brennan Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held today at 4 p.m. in elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
