The following is the telegram which
 was received by Mrs. Henchy: Fred Henchy is dead. Order disposal of body. (Signed) “J. V. RALLESDORFER” “Superintendent." Members of the family, when communicated with last night, refused to discuss the matter, only to say that Fred Henchy left his home in Lamberts Point last Monday to go to New Haven. He is 28 years of age and the single son of the late Thomas Henchy. New Haven, Conn., April 26 – (Special.) - While attempting to board a moving train near Gregory and Canal streets early this morning, Frederick Henchy was caught by the train and badly mangled. He was taken unconscious to St. Raphel’s hospital where both legs were amputated. He suffered scalp wounds also and died about four hours later. When picked up by the police at eight o’clock, he regained consciousness for a short time and said he came from Norfolk, Va. He was operated on in the hope of saving him. The funeral of Frederick J. Henchy, who lost his life recently in a railroad accident in New England, was held at the grave in St. Mary’s cemetery yesterday. The service was conducted by Rev. Father R. A. Drake of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Following were the pall- bearers: Frederick Downing, C. Downing, Ross Genson and G. T. Elliott. The remains of the deceased arrived here from New Haven, Conn., Friday night.
