He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thom Williamson Henderson, of Norfolk. He was a teller in the National Bank of Commerce before becoming a traveling salesman for the Building Supplies Corporation in Norfolk. Mr. Henderson worked for 25 years with the Sash, Door and Glass Corporation of Richmond before retiring. During that time, he lived in Florence, S.C. He had lived in Norfolk since 1949. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edward Wellford Withers, of Norfolk; one son, James MacMurdo Henderson, Jr., of Sarasota, Fla.; four grandchildren, Thom W. Henderson, Jr., Robert S. Henderson, Elsie Henderson and Mac Henderson, and two great-grandchildren, Claudia B. Henderson and Robert S. Henderson. Funeral services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Peyton R. Williams, rector of Christ and St. Luke's Church, of which Mr. Henderson was a member. Burial will be private in Elmwood Cemetery.
