Henderson, well known to many of the residents, died yesterday morning at 2:15 o'clock on Second street after a lingering illness and confinement to his bed for five months. He was 55 years of age and had been nearly totally blind for several years. He leaves a widow. The deceased was born November 22, 1846, in Maryland and served in Company B, Fourth Maryland Regiment, as corporal during the War Between the State. After his marriage in 1899 he moved to Berkley, where he has since made his home. He was a consistent member of Main Street Christian Church and also of Chesapeake Tribe No. 50, I.O.R.M.; Tidewater Council No. 30, Jr. O.U.A.M. and the G.A.R. The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Christian Church and will be conducted by Rev. Herbert Scholz, assisted by Rev. Arthur O. Sykes. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
