Mr. Hendren had retired from Norshipco as a superintendent and estimator. He was a former member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and an honorary member of the administrative board. He was a life member and past master of Doric Masonic Lodge 44. He was a member of Ionic Royal Arch Chapter 46, Grice Commandery 16, Khedive Shrine Temple, the Propeller Club of Norfolk and the Berkley Kiwanis Club of Norfolk. Survivors include his wife, Harriet Pritchard Hendren; and a niece, Mrs. Herbert D. Smith of Virginia Beach. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Cox Funeral Home by the Rev. James L. Duley and W.R. Petre. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Norfolk. Memorial donations may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
