Hendren Funeral Rites Tomorrow

Funeral services for Albert Lee (Alfred Leon) Hendren, 57, who died in a 
local hospital Sunday at 10:06 p.m. after an illness of 10 days, will be 
conducted at the Cox Funeral Home Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. 
Thomas F. Carroll, D.D., pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, officiating. 
Burial will be in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
A native of Berkley, Hendren was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, son of the 
late Francis N. and Mrs. Mary J. Way Hendren.
He began his career with the Seaboard Air Line Railway in 1915 and was 
promoted to the position of commerce agent in 1926. He was a member of 
Epworth Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Elizabeth Ashlin Hendren; one 
brother, Edward L. Hendren, of New Orleans and a sister, Mrs. Mattie H. 
Durand, of Washington.
