Hendren, husband of Mrs. Mai Crippen Hendren and son of the late Maj. J. Hardy Hendren, C.S.A., and Mrs. Emily Rowe Hendren, died in New Orleans Wednesday morning at 3:30 o'clock. Mr. Hendren was a native and former well- known resident of Norfolk and for the past 40 years had been a resident of New Orleans. He was particularly well known in transportation circles here, and was a retired executive of the Texas Transport and Terminal Corporation, of New Orleans, and was a warden of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of that city. His last position was special agent for the Aetna Life Insurance Company. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, W. Hardy Hendren; one daughter, Mrs. John A. Mason; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. W. Taylor Willis, rector of Christ and St. Luke's Church, officiating. Mr. Hendren's first wife, Mrs. Mabel Toy Hendren, died about 1906.
