Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, May 19, 1999 
Harriet Pritchard Hendren, 87, of Westminster-Canterbury of Virginia Beach, 
died May 17, 1999, in a local hospital. 
She was a native of Norfolk and was the daughter of the late Frances Miles 
Finch and Samuel Jennings Pritchard. She was the widow of William 
Henry ''Harry'' Hendren. 
Mrs. Hendren was a member of Baylake United Methodist Church and a former 
member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women's 
Society, Margaret Bottome Circle of the Children's Hospital of The King's 
Daughters, a former member of the Mary Calcott Women's Club, and a past 
president of the Ellsworth Garden Club. 
She is survived by a brother, F.M. ''Jack'' Pritchard and his wife, Bonnie, of 
Chesapeake; four nieces, Mary Louise ''Teeny'' Hendren Smith and Frances 
Hendren Davis, both of Virginia Beach, Elizabeth Hendren Perry of Wilton, 
Conn., and Lynn Pritchard Norris of Richmond; two nephews, David Wayne 
Pritchard of Lovettsville, Va., and Don Foster Tyler of Dunnelon, Fla.; a 
special cousin, Eddie Cooper and his wife, Helen, of Virginia Beach; and 
several other cousins. 
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today in Magnolia Cemetery, Norfolk, by 
the Rev. Ted David. A memorial service will also be held in the chapel of 
Westminster-Canterbury of Virginia Beach at 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Allen 
Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. 
Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
