Gray Sr. She was the widow of Alvin Hendricks. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Mrs. Hendricks attended Morgan State College in Baltimore, Md. She retired in 1974 as a legal secretary for Attorney Hillary Jones after 20 years of service and then retired in 1989 as a secretary for Berkley Citizens Savings and Loan after 15 years. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran in Portsmouth. Survivors include a son, George S. Lane III of Portsmouth; a brother, Charles A. Gray Jr. of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Malcolm Powell of Portsmouth, Chantel Lane of the U.S. Army, Fort Hood, Texas, and Christopher Lane of Detroit, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Joyce T. Gray of Norfolk; a nephew, Charles A. Gray III of Norfolk; and other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Street Chapel, by the Rev. Byron Collins. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will assemble at 814 Dorset Ave., Portsmouth, one hour prior to the service for the procession.
