Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday March 18, 1936
Mrs. Mary Pitt Henley, widow of John H. Henley, and daughter of the late 
Merritt Goodwin and Lucy Campbell Pitt, a native and lifelong resident of 
Norfolk, died at 8:45 o'clock yesterday morning at the residence of her 
daughter, Mrs. Frank E. Williams, 534 Virginia avenue, Colonial Place. 
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Frank E. Williams, she is survived by two 
grandchildren, Frank E. Williams Jr., and Mary Campbell Williams, one 
sister, Miss Sallie C. Pitt, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral 
services will be held at the above residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 
o'clock, with the Rev. W. Taylor Willis, rector of Christ and St. Luke's 
Church, of which Mrs. Henley was a member, officiating. Interment will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
