Virginian-Pilot  June 13, 1935
John Leo Hennelly, son of the late William P. and Hannah Healey Hennelly, a native 
and life-long resident of Norfolk, died at 8:45 o’clock yesterday morning at a 
local hospital. Mr. Hennelly was a member of Norfolk Council No. 367, Knights of 
Columbus, and of the Holy Name Society, of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Surviving 
him are two sisters, the Misses Mary G., and Catherine A. Hennelly; one brother, 
William T. Hennelly, seven nieces and one nephew. Remains will be taken from the 
residence, No. 901 Virginia street, to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, for funeral 
services Friday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be private in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
