DEATH OF MR. WILLIAM P. HENNELLY
The Virginian regrets to announce the death of this well-known and respected 
citizen, which occurred yesterday about 2 o'clock, at his late residence on 
Virginia street, corner of Chapel. His illness was brief and his death very 
unexpected to his many friends in the two communities, who deeply sympathize with 
his afflicted family. Mr. Hennelly was a native of Ireland, but for many years has 
resided in Norfolk, esteemed by a large circle of friends. He was for a number of 
years Clerk of the Market, and made the record of being a most efficient officer. 
Since then he has been  engaged in the retail grocery business.
He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Beneficial Society, and has occupied the 
position of treasurer of the association since its organization in 1878. Peace to 
his ashes.
