George Michael Heppel, aged 75, husband of Mrs. Theresa Furlong Heppel and son of 
the late John and Mrs. Catherine Carr Heppel, a native and lifelong resident of 
this section, died at 7:30 o’clock Tuesday morning at the residence, 265 East 
Fortieth street, Riverview.
Mr. Heppel, well known private detective, operator of Keppel’s Detective Agency, 
was a member of Norfolk Lodge No. 38, B. P. O. Elks, and of the Holy Name Society 
of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Besides his wife, Mrs. Theresa Furlong Heppel, he 
is survived by one  sister, Mrs. Jennie Heppel Bain, of Norfolk, and a number of 
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Thursday morning at 10 
o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at 
the residence tonight at 8 o’clock.
