Mr. Herbert had suffered with failing health for nearly a year before he yielded to the inevitable. About three months ago he was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital for treatment, which was without avail, and he was brought back to his home about a month ago. He leaves a wife and three children. The funeral will take place from the residence this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. *************************************************************** The obsequies of Mr. Melnot Herbert, whose demise occurred at his home on Liberty street, Berkley, Tuesday morning, was held from the residence at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, in the presence of a large assemblage of friends. The services were conducted by Rev. T. Claggett Skinner, of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. R.M. Chandler, of Chestnut Street M.E. Church, and Rev. W.A. Slaymaker, of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church. The remains were laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery. Following were the pall-bearers: Messrs. T.E. Rodgers, G.D. Williams, C.S. Rodgers, L. Hyslop, Sr., J.R. Walker and L. Berkley.
