VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Minnie Constance Simcocks Herbert, 91, died Sunday 
afternoon in a nursing home.
A native of Southampton, England, she lived here 59 years. She was the widow of 
Albert Everett Herbert and a daughter of Octavius Phillip and Mrs. Elizabeth 
Eliza Simcocks.
She was a member of the Church of England and a former member of the Order of 
Eastern Star.
Surviving are three granddaughters, Mrs. Daniel Gordon Griffin and Mrs. George 
W. Roper II of Norfolk, and Mrs. Robert R. Johnson II of Virginia Beach; and two 
great-grandchildren.
The body is in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments in Norfolk. It will be taken to 
Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, for a funeral service Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. 
Richard O. Bridgeforth and the Rev. Joseph Tinder of All Saints Episcopal 
Church.
The family will be at 523 Oak Grove Road, Talbot Park, Norfolk. They have 
requested that flowers be omitted and those who desire may contribute to a 
charity.
