Mrs. Herbert, a native of Chesapeake, worked as a dietitian at Portlock High School for 27 years before her retirement. She was the widow of Barry McAlpine Herbert Sr. She was the last surviving charter member of Rosemont Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Faye Drinkard of Virginia Beach; a son, Barry M. Herbert Jr. of Chesapeake; a brother, Albert S. Morrison of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Rosemont Christian Church by the Rev. Mark Musser. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Norfolk. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk. At other times, the family will be at 1245 Foursome Lane, Virginia Beach, or 1405 Earle Ave. Memorial donations may be made to the church's memorial fund.
