                  FIVE GENERATIONS BROKEN BY DEATH
Mrs. Ellen Nora Herrick, 89 Years Old, Survived by Great-Great-Grandchildren

Five generations of one family were broken yesterday, when Mrs. Ellen Nora 
Herrick, 89 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. J. Proescher, 
752 East Twenty-sixth street.
Mrs. Herrick, a native of Baltimore and a resident of Norfolk for thirty-eight 
years, had thirty-six direct descendants living at the time of her death. She is 
survived by three daughters, Mrs. William Twiford, Mrs. Margaret Walker and Mrs. 
S. J. Proescher, of Norfolk; two sons, J. I. Herrick, of Kempsville, and W. H. 
Herrick, of Suffolk, eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and three 
great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Herrick was a member of St. Paul's Church during her entire residence in 
Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home of 
Mrs. Proescher. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.


Additional Comments:
Apparently her first and middle names were used interchangeably.
