NORFOLK - Alphons Walter Herschel, 77, died Saturday in an area hospital.

A native of Leipzig, Germany, he was the son of Frederick and Mrs. Ernestine 
Herschel and husband of the late Mrs. Mary Enright Herschel.  He was a member of 
Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

He is survived by a son, William F. Herschel of Daly City, Calif.

The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Holy Trinity 
Catholic Church for a mass Thursday at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery.
