She was born May 25, 1913, in Maybeuy, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Reverend and Mrs. Cottrell of Maybeuy and was a member of First United Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Hewitt was fondly known by many as Miss Mollie, the former proprietor of ``Mollie's Kitchen'' which she operated for many years. She is survived by her family members who loved her dearly, a daughter, Yvonne Hewitt Brown and her husband, Edward L. Brown Sr., of Virginia Beach, where she resided until her death; five grandchildren, Judy Brown, Robin Hairston-Lawrence and her husband, Darnell Lawrence, Edward L. Brown Jr. of Virginia Beach, Bunny Hairston, Valerie Brown and her husband, Donald Brown, of Norfolk; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and a host of friends. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Ditawa Nianda, located on 29th Street in Norfolk. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
