Hewitt of the 2700 block of Colchester Crescent and formerly of the 800 block of B Avenue, died Oct. 2, 1998, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. A native of Norfolk, she was employed at Charlotte Street Recreation Center with the City of Norfolk Parks and Recreation. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where she was a Deaconness Board member. She also was a member of the Golden Age Senior Citizens of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia H. Crawley and Selma H. Howard, both of Norfolk, and Edith H. Lee of Chesapeake; one sister, Elouise Lee of Norfolk; one brother, Lemuel Taylor of Norfolk; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law, George Crawley and Morris Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, William Lee Hewitt Sr., and her son, William L. ``Billy'' Hewitt Jr. A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday at Jerusalem Baptist Church by the Rev. H. Carlyle Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be ready for viewing from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The remains will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
