VIRGINIA BEACH - Spencer Junior Hiatt, 66, of the 800 block of Deary Lane, a 
retired petty officer first class, died Dec. 28, 1988, in a hospital.
Mr. Hiatt, a native of Vincennes, Ind., retired from the Navy after 20 years. He 
was the widower of Esther M. Hiatt. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Branch 166.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita H. Dayton of Virginia Beach and Celine H. 
Butler of Roanoke; a son, Jeffrey S. Hiatt of Virginia Beach; and a sister, Ollice 
Mae Rae of Indiana.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Laskin Road, by Father Edward R. Richardson. Burial will be in St. 
Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Hampton Roads 
Chapter for Alzheimer’s Disease, P.O. Box 2794, Norfolk, Va. 23501. Friends may 
join the family in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
