HIBBS MET DEATH BY HANGING, JURY SAYS
Coroner's jury yesterday decided that William Hibbs came to his death by hanging 
himself with suicidal intent in the city jail sometime during last Sunday night. 
Two prisoners occupying adjoining cells to that of Hibbs testified that the 
unfortunate man was all right when they turned in for the night at 10:30 o'clock. 
No trace has yet been found of the relatives of the dead man, who was recently 
brought to Norfolk from New Jersey by the police, and he will be buried at the 
expense of the city.
