Virginian-Pilot  November 25 & 27, 1908
Sister Vincent, 62 years old, a native of Baltimore, but having taught school in 
various cities for 40 years, died at St. Vincent’s Hospital yesterday morning at 
5:45 o’clock, after an illness of one year. She had resided in Norfolk for two 
years.
Sister Vincent last taught school in Portsmouth, where she was well known. At 
Petersburg she taught the senior class at St. Joseph’s Academy of that city. 
Sister Vincent had a wide circle of friends in the different cities where she 
taught.
Sister Vincent’s family name could not be learned. It is said that she is the only 
member of her family who embraced the Catholic faith.

HICHEW - At St. Vincent’s Hospital, Tuesday, November 24, 1908, at 5:45 o’clock 
a.m., Sister VINCENT HICHEW, aged 63 years.
Funeral services from St. Vincent’s Chapel THIS (Thursday) MORNING at 9 o’clock.
