Virginian-Pilot  November 10, 1942
Mrs. Ida Martin Hickey, wife of W. T. Hickey, and daughter of the late James 
Monroe and. Mrs. Virginia Ann Jenkins Martin, died at a local hospital, yesterday 
afternoon at 12:15 o’clock. Mrs. Hickey was a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., and a 
resident of Norfolk for the past 20 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by 
a daughter, Mrs. G. W. Green, of Norfolk; a grandson, William I. Truitt, Jr., of 
Norfolk, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Frederick L. Eyrond, of San Francisco, Calif. 
The body will be taken from the residence, 755 West Ocean View avenue, to Holy 
Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View, of which Mrs. Hickey was a member, for 
funeral services Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the residence tonight at 8 o’clock.
