Hickey died last night at 8:55 o’clock at his residence, 916 W. Raleigh avenue, in his 65th year. He was a native of Ireland, but had lived in Norfolk since infancy, and was highly regarded. The funeral will take place Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic church. He is survived by eight children, J. B., Margaret, Ailene, Lucy and Katherine Hickey, Mrs. T. B. Hatton, Mrs. W. W. Lee and Mrs. J. J. Lawler; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. F. P. Evans, all of Norfolk, and one brother, Patrick Hickey, of Ireland. He was a member of the Emerald Beneficial Association, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and Knights of Columbus. He has been in railroad work for 50 years, serving the Norfolk and Western as engineer since that company came into existence.
