NORFOLK - Mrs. Bridget Mae Hickman, 68, of 1823 Croyden Road, the widow of Eugene 
C. Hickman, died Sunday at 3 p.m. in a hospital.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was a daughter of Cornelius and Mrs. Annie 
Bean Smith Schoonwagen.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Tatum, Mrs. Barbara South, and Mrs. 
Jean Furlough of Norfolk; a son, Eugene C. Hickman Jr., of Annandale; two sisters, 
Mrs. Nellie Ingram of Norfolk and Mrs. Margaret Bell of Virginia Beach; two 
brothers, C. P. Smith of Norfolk and Robert Smith of Virginia Beach; nine 
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic 
Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited tonight 
at 7:30 in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. The family is at 1675 Croyden Road.
