George Hicks, well known figure around the Southside area, died at his 
residence on Liberty street Tuesday morning after being ill for several 
months.

Mr. Hicks was a lifetime member of the Berkley Brass and Reed Band, having 
joined the group many years ago.

His death came one month after the decease of his mother, the late Mrs. 
Adelia Hicks, well known and beloved Southside Matron. Funeral services are 
scheduled for Thursday. 

(Per death certificate, burial place is Mt. Olive Cemetery,undertaker is 
Nancy T. Wheeler)
