Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Wednesday January 1, 1930
Edward D. Hicks, aged 60, died at the residence, 714 Holt street, yesterday 
morning at 3:05 o'clock.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Stephens Hicks; 
two daughters, Mrs. W.H. Klapp and Miss Myrtle A. Hicks, both of Durham; six 
brothers, James Hicks, Charles Hicks and John Hicks, of Durham, N.C., B.O. Hicks, 
Luther Hicks and Banks Hicks, and four sisters, Miss Lucy Hicks, of Reidsville, 
N.C.; Mrs. Simon Hester, of Morrisville, N.C.; Mrs. James Holsonback and Mrs. J.C. 
Morris, of Durham.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Twenty-
ninth and Granby streets, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.  Burial will be in 
Forest Lawn Cemetery.
