Norfolk Journal and Guide, Nov. 24, 1973
Norfolk - Mrs. Evangeline McClam Hickson,75 of 2227 Marshall Ave., the widow of
Golden Hickson, died Nov. 12 in a Petersburg hospital.

A native of Scranton, SC, she was a Sunday school teacher and Senior Missionary
Society member of First United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Quincy Carter and Mrs. Creacia M. Jones of
Plainfield, NJ;  and two brothers, Troy McClam of Baltimore and A. O. McClam of
Norfolk.

A funeral service was held Nov. 15 in First United Presbyterian Church by the
Rev. O. J. Wynn. 
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Elton’s Funeral Home in charge.
