Edgar T. Higgason died at 8:20 yesterday morning at the residence, 228 Twenty-seventh Street, after a lingering illness, aged 45 years. He was until recently pastor of the London Bridge Baptist Church, Princess Anne County, having to resign on account of his health. He moved to Norfolk recently and was well known and highly esteemed. He was a member of the Park Place Baptist Church, which he joined a short while since. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Miss Etta V. Higgason and a son, Frederick W. Higgason, all of Norfolk and a sister, Mrs. Alice Cooke of Hanover, Pa. He was a member of the Masons, Odd Fellows and Woodmen. The funeral will be held at the residence at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon. Services will be conducted by Rev. W. Thorburn Clarke of Richmond and Rev. R.A. Williams of the Park Place Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. ************************************************************************** The funeral of Rev. Edgar T. Higgason took place at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the residence, 228 West Twenty-seventh Street. Services were conducted by Rev. W. Thornburn Clarke of Richmond, a life long friend, and Rev. R.A. Williams, pastor of Park Place Baptist Church. The funeral was attended by delegations from the Odd Fellows, Woodmen of the World and Masons, in all of which he was an active member. The flowers were numerous and beautiful. Among them was a square and compass from the Masons and a pillar from the Woodmen of the World. During the service Mrs. W.B. Walker and Mrs. E.S. Hammersley sang a duet, "Will the Circle be Unbroken," and R. Redwood Richardson a solo, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Mrs. Branch Rush was the accompanist. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. The active pallbearers were from the official body of London Bridge Baptist Church, of which Mr. Higgason was a former pastor. The pallbearers were: Honorary - W. V. Hart and W.C. Duncan from the Masons; S.D. Latham and M.G. Leonard from Woodmen of the World; E.F. Gray and A.J. Barden from Odd Fellows; active-- J.E. Old, E. Land, David Barnes, M.D. Gornto, N.D. Brown,, C.T. Whitehead, T.H. Pritchard and Benjamin Gimbert.
