Higgason, 71, of 230 E. 40th St., a son of the Rev. E. T. and Mrs. Lillie Wells Higgason, died in a hospital Friday at 1:15 a.m. A native of Warwick County, he lived in Norfolk 50 years. He was a member of Freemason Street Baptist Church, Ruth Masonic Lodge 89, Norfolk Consistory, Scottish Rite Bodies, and Khedive Temple of the Shrine. He was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 36 and a former state committeeman of American Legion. He retired in 1942 as an inspector of Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Charles M. Hagler of Norfolk. A funeral service will be held in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. William L. Lumpkin, of Freemason Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
