Norfolk Virginian September 1, 1896
Death of an Estimable Lady
Mrs. Jennie Higginbottom (sic) died Sunday about 10:30 a.m. at her daughter's 
residence, No. 5 Shields street. She was 58 years of age and had been a great 
sufferer for two years past with an internal cancer. For the past year she was 
confined to her bed and was an intense sufferer.
The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence.
The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
