Higgins, widow of Colonel A.M. Higgins, died suddenly in her apartment, 721 East Raleigh avenue, at 11 o'clock yesterday morning. Her death was supposedly due to apoplexy. Mrs. Higgins had not been in good health for several months but had shown improvement of late. Yesterday morning, on complaint of again feeling unwell, her physician was sent for, but was unable to save her. Mrs. Higgins, widely known here for her beauty and charm, was the daughter of the late Colonel and Mrs. George W. Johnston and granddaughter of William H. Turner. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Elizabeth Turner Higgins; a brother, Turner M. Johnston, and a sister, Mrs. Jordan Anthony Pugh, all of this city. Mrs. Higgins will be buried tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The interment will be private and Rev. Owen-Jones, assistant pastor of Christ Episcopal Church, Norfolk, will conduct the services in the absence of Dr. Steinmetz.
