Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, December 18, 2000 
NORFOLK - Novella Myrick Higgins, 85, of the 2700 block of Beachmont Ave., died
Dec. 14, 2000, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A native of Norfolk, she retired as a clerk after 25 years with the U.S. Postal
Service and was the widow of Roosevelt Higgins. Mrs. Higgins was a member of
Abyssinian Baptist Church, New York City, where she served on the Entertainment
Committee and Senior Ladies Usher Board. She was also a member of Gideon's
Riverside Fellowship, Norfolk.

Survivors include her sister, Bernice M. Gregory; and nieces, nephews and other
relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Gideon's Riverside Fellowship
Church, Norfolk, by Dr. Milton A. Reid. Burial will be Calvary Cemetery . The
remains will lie in repose at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of the
service. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
