Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark January 17, 1933

Mrs. Nellie Allen Higgins, widow of William T. Higgins and daughter of the 
late William F. and Mrs. Margaret Griffin Allen, died yesterday morning at 
2:30 o'clock.  Mrs. Higgins was a native and lifelong resident of  Norfolk.
Mrs. Higgins is survived by two sons, William P. and Maitland Higgins of New 
York; one sister, Mrs. J. Ware Jones, of Philadelphia; two brothers, James 
E. Allen, of Virginia Beach and Joseph B. Allen, of Lorton and a number of 
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at St. 
Mary's Catholic Church.
