Virginian-Pilot January 1, 1945
Mrs. Mary Walke Higginson, 77, widow of James P. Higginson, and daughter of the 
late William Talbot and Mrs. Mary Gary Walke, a native and former resident of 
Norfolk, died Sunday morning at Shadwell, Va., where she had resided for the past 
four years. She is survived by two brothers, Herbert Nash Walke, of Shadwell, and 
Isaac Talbot Walke, of Norfolk, and a sister, Mrs. Sally W. Chipley, of Shadwell. 
The body Will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Elmwood 
Cemetery for services at the grave this morning at 11 o'clock, with the Rev. 
Taylor Willis, D.D., rector of Christ and St. Luke's Church, officiating.
