Thursday night, Lillian, the little daughter of Mr. George Hildreth, of Mayfield, met with an accident, from which death ensued yesterday morning after great suffering. It seems the little one, in attempting to get into a chair, slipped and, pulling with her the tablecloth, overturned a kerosene lamp, which broke into flames. Her father, in endeavoring to rescue her or put out the fire, was seriously burned and is confined to his bed from injuries sustained. The funeral of the child will take place from the residence of the parents this afternoon at 5 o'clock, at which time and place the friends and acquaintances of the family are invited to attend.
