Virginian Pilot May 24, 1968 

Bassett P. Hill Jr., of 902 Wide St. died Wednesday in a hospital after a short 
illness.
A native of Richmond, he was the husband of Mrs. Harriett V. Hill and a son of 
the late Bassett P. Hill Sr. and Mrs. Nellie P. Hill.
He was a truck driver for Virginian Home Oil Co., Inc. more than 20 years.
He was a former member of Queen Street Baptist Church.
Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Rudolph E. Hill and a sister, Mrs. India 
Hill, both of Norfolk and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Riddick Funeral Chapel by the 
Rev. Richard A. Councill. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
