Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, August 11, 1993 
Ishmael M. Hill of the 1000 block of Mapole Ave., died Aug. 9, 1993, in a local
hospital.

Mr. Hill was born in Norfolk, the son of the late Sarah Rowe Hill and Rev.
William F. Hill. He was a member of First Baptist Church Berkley and was
employed as a federal government stationary engineer with 30 years of service.
He was the widower of Collette Hill.

Survivors include three sisters, Colon H. Baker and Elsie H. Hewitt, both of
Norfolk, and Sarah H. Cooke of Richmond; two brothers, Lester V. Hill of
Richmond and Dr. Carl M. Hill of Hampton; one great-nephew, Lester McKay of
Virginia Beach; and several cousins, including Mary O. Hill of Portsmouth and
Odessa James of Norfolk.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church Berkley
by the Rev. William Tyree. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be
placed in church at 9 a.m. The family will assemble at 1020 Mapole Ave. Hale
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
