The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Saturday, January 8, 1938
William Henry Hill, aged 97 years, son of the late Nathaniel and Mrs. Mary 
Whitehurst Hill, a native of Norfolk and lifelong resident of this section, 
died at 2:15 o'clock yesterday morning at the residence, 308 Queen street, 
Portsmouth, Va. Mr. Hill, former wholesale oyster dealer, was a member of 
Lafayette Lodge No. 9 I.O.O.F., and of the G.A.R. He is survived by one 
daughter, Mrs. H.S. Frazier, of Norfolk; two sons, Charles E. Hill, of Norfolk, 
and Frederick B. Hill, of Portsmouth, and three grandchildren. Services will be 
held at H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-12 East Freemason street, 
Norfolk, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. H.B. Lipscomb, Jr., 
pastor of the Monumental Methodist Episcopal Church.
