C. E. Griffin, pastor, officiating. Mr. Hill, of 961 Galt street, died Friday morning, Oct. 22, at his home following a long illness. A Norfolk native, Mr. Hill was a son of the late Charles and Mrs. Anna Hill. He was a veteran of World War 1, member of First Calvary Baptist Church and its Men's Bible class, Sons of Norfolk, Excelsior Lodge 87, A.F. and A.M. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susie Rebecca Hill; one brother, Edward Hill; father-in-law, George Cotton; two nieces, Mrs. Jean Thomas and Mrs. Julia Garrett; four nephews, Edward Hill of New York, Addison, George and Calvin Parker, all of Norfolk; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Saulter. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Citizens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
